Before the Melbourne end of Southern Lands could wing its way to Germany there had to be a handover of artworks. It was a very merry handover as you might expect from a gathering of four quilters. After a pre lunch show and tell there was much discussion of the issues addressed in Dijanne’s artist’s statement. Then the conversation ranged over where to buy the absolute best fabrics, of course, plus how we all worked, our lives, and a million other topics that had nothing at all to do with quilting.
The post lunch chit chat finished just before teatime – but then that kind of socialising goes with quilting.

The quilts arrived in Germany from Australia - although they were tracked all the way, and it doesn’t matter how much confidence we all had in the courier, it was still a great relief to get the email from Juliette Eckel to say they had arrived safely.

The photos are a few quick shots taken in between the action. This preview exhibition closed on March 22. An expanded exhibition, more than double the size, will take place in the south of France in May. Look for details of this and other venues as they appear on the calendar page of this site.
